Community Leadership
Utilize your interest and experience to share the mission and message of Mothers Against Drunk Driving throughout your community.

Networking – Networking is one of the most important and effective means of spreading our message. Volunteers are needed who can get involved with community events, chamber of commerce meetings and corporate health and safety fairs to introduce community leaders to MADD programs and services. Those comfortable doing so can participate in MADD Speakers’ Bureau training and make presentations to corporations and civic organizations. Volunteers will also help to connect MADD staff and/or other volunteers to key community individuals who may be interested in participating in MADD events and/or serving in an advisory capacity.

Financial Oversight – The efficient management of funds is crucial to MADD’s continued success. Volunteers will review financial reports and vendor files to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of office procedures and financial controls and help investigate lower-cost vendor contracts. At the state level, volunteers are needed to assist with monthly overview of bank statements and financial reports to regional offices, review monthly and quarterly grants, assist with year-end close out procedures and, in accordance with MADD National policy, periodically review bank accounts to determine if funds might be better invested.

Corporate Cultivation – Area businesses are an important source of support for MADD. Volunteers will help identify companies that might be interested in partnering with MADD, assist staff with preparing corporate presentations and accompany MADD staff on presentations to corporate boards. Volunteers will also help maintain a database of corporate contacts and prospects in the area.

Individual Cultivation – To build awareness and support of MADD’s programs and services among individuals, volunteers are needed to assist staff with tracking of individual donations to ensure that thank you letters are promptly mailed, help maintain a database of individual donors and assist staff with presentations to community groups.
