MADD
Legislative Day – On the 2nd Tuesday in February
during each legislative session (odd numbered years in
Texas), MADD conducts an “awareness day” at
the State Capitol. Volunteers are needed beforehand to
work with state offices on preparing training materials
for staff and volunteers regarding MADD’s key legislative
issues, updating the database with the names and contact
numbers of anyone interested in helping with our legislative
goals, working with staff and volunteers to ensure they
are well prepared for speaking with state representatives
and senators about MADD’s issues, and coordinating
logistics in the days leading up to Legislative Day. On
the day of the event, volunteers will help coordinate
volunteer’s travel to and from Austin, organize
efforts while at the Capitol and go along on visits to
appropriate legislators.

Phone
Trees – The Phone Trees help keep individuals
and organizations apprised of – and progressing
toward -- MADD’s key legislative goals throughout
legislative and interim sessions. Volunteers will work
with staff to update the contact database, including any
changes in address, email and/or phone number for interested
citizens and help identify additional people willing to
help out with legislative issues.
